Manthiram
Manthiram is a forty page graphic history. It presents a series of interconnected vignettes of the historic Mannar pearl fisheries, off the coast of Sri Lanka. It explores humanity’s enchantment with the sea and its treasures, and the charms and rituals with which we attempt to commune with it.
The project culminated in an exhibition at NYUAD’s Project Space.

Bonikka
In this Sri Lankan-ized adaptation of a German folk story, a spunky village girl investigates the identity of a puppet maker’s strangely quiet daughter, uncovering magic, mayhem and a wicked plot.
The style draws from the colors and textures of Rukada puppets and Sri Lankan masks, textiles and temple paintings.
